Unhappy changing cooling fluid

I've changed the cooling fluid in my presso 91 V6 1800cc, and surprisingly it took only about 1.5 liters !! what's wrong? cheers

Re: changing cooling fluid

Did you drain it completely? Cuz when I swapped to the 2.5L I put 4 easy litres of coolant

I dont know what could be causing this... From where did you drain the cooland in the first place?

To drain the coolant, i unscrewed a plastic-like screw valve (with a phillips head) located at the front left down (when you stand facing the car) and accessible through the lower air opening in the front bumper. cheers..

Re: changing cooling fluid

I just took off the lower rubber hose going to the rad and took out the rad after everything drained out. Hmm.. I dont know where the drain plug is actually now that I looked.

Re: Re: changing cooling fluid

Re: changing cooling fluid

that's odd, I only have one fan. You are talking about the rad fans, right? I only have one, and mine is always on because I have the Jspec ECU and for some reason it never shuts off while the car is running...

Or do you mean the interior fans? If it is the interior fans, then I have no idea what could be causing that. Ive never played with the Air system. Go to http://www.mx-3.com and click on 'Online Shop Manual' Under the 'Technical Info' heading on the righthand side. Really useful if you decide to tackle troubleshooting yourself.

Re: Re: changing cooling fluid

Yes, I'm talking about the rad fans, i have two probably cause the car is 1800 CC, or may be the other one is for the condenser of the airconditioning system....not sure, however i thought that fans should only work when it's needed....what do you mean by JSPEC ECU?

Re: changing cooling fluid

I have the 1.8L as well.. that's odd. I dont have air, but still. weird.

Jspec means Japanese version of the ECU which is the computer that monitors and regulates stats on the motor. For some reason that makes the fan almost always on.

Re: Re: changing cooling fluid

I looked in some Hynes Maintenece Books, similar cars have second fan for the airconditioner. Could you locate the coolant drain valve?
