offsets and +ranges and width ALL GREEK TO ME I NEED HELP!!!

ok i drive a 1999 firebird and i want to get new rims but i dont know what will fit i dont know what the stock bolt pattern is orwhat sizes i can go with my rims and what ranges i have no clue what any of that stuff means can someone give me a 101 in how to find the rigfht wheel size for your car???

difficult to explain, your best bet is to go to a place that specializes in rims, they have an idea what type of rims with different backspacing will fit on your car. especially if you do not know which ones you want to buy, not all rims are made for all cars, in general you won't have a problem putting 17 or 18 inch rims on, but get some advice from a pro, cause if you mess up on the backspacing the fault is on you, so let them help you...
