Buttons peeling

now is it just me and my extensive driving or are the buttons on the chevys (radio,trunk release) made in a way that they kind of peel from use?
Anyone else have this problem?

Which buttons on the radio? The knobs on the radio are replaceable by the dealer

The center button on/off and trunk button on driver door, way out of warranty (68k on clock). I know is mostly from turning the radio off when phone goes off, (thus mute radio wire thread) .
