Can anyone recomend a good complete exhaust system. This is going to the first step in my upgrades and just wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions.

Re: Good Exhaust System

Custom exhaust with mandrel bends bought online, or mandrel bent at a custom exhaust shop. Shouldn't run you more than $200-300, and if you can weld yourself, it can be done for less than $150. It will flow just as well as any aftermarket exhaust.

I would do 3" piping, but some people get away with 2.5" if they don't plan on making more than 300-350whp.

Re: Good Exhaust System

I love Alberta...no smog regulations :-)

Don't bother with brand name cost, just buy something that does the job right.

Re: Good Exhaust System

Name brands arent worth it at all. Save big bucks just like everyone said and get it custom done. Plus you can chose whatever tips you want. Magnaflow makes some pretty neat double-walled ones...

Get a down pipe that DOES NOT eliminate the cat, and a test pipe to to replace the cat. That way, when its time to smog, you just replace the test pipe with the cat instead of the whole DP.

Piping is piping. Doesnt matter how much you pay for it. A $250 injen intake pipe and a $25 ebay intake pipe... classic misconception about certain products for our cars... yes, you would expect a good BOV to be more expensive than one that doesnt hold as much boost because it takes good engineering a R&D to come up with something that actually works better than the competition... but piping, I dont think so... a good muffler shop can give GReddys and Apexis a run for their money for half the cost... muffler design ofcourse, does have a lot to do with how your car SOUNDS....but other than that, its just a big, twisty PIPE ! lol

Agree with sphyer. Go to a shop, have them bent you a pipe, stick a nice muffler on it, (id leave the cat), and your done for like $250. Well spent by the way.
