swaps

If its an 89, it came with either a 4age or a 4agze(supercharged). Since you're asking about a swap, I assume you have the former of those 2. If you're looking for a simple swap, go with a JDM 4agze/5 speed swap. With a pulley swap you'll be putting out around 170hp+. If you want a more complicated swap that has a lot more potential, the 3sgte out of an mk2 mr2 would be your best bet. With some simple mods, these engines put out around 250hp, with potential for 300+ if you know what youre doing. Just my 2 cents though.

Re: swaps

Oh yeah. As for the turbo method, it's been done, but is fairly involved if you want to do it right. Been thinking about doing that myself. Right now I'm leaning toward the 3sgte swap though. A forum your friend should check out is www.mr2oc.com. Definitely a forum worth being a member of.
