2k4 4runner sunroof

My sunroof is now stuck open and will not close. nothing unusual took place opened as normal and now wont close.. tries but doesnt move forward more than 1/2 inch. then back .. Anybody know of a manual way to close, as living in Florida with a hole in the top of your suv not a good idea.

Doesn't your owner's manual have instructions for manually closing it?

did you ever get yours closed? I have a 2003 with the same problem. Toyota said $2700 to fix. They won't even close it for me.

Finally did, but maybe by luck.. I slid the interior roof back and forth while pressing the open and close button until finally it worked. got it shut but makes some noise now opening and closing beyond half way.

And there's nothing in the manual about manually operating that I could see.

I have a 1990 that had issues as well. I bought some lithium grease and lubed the tracks, wind guard, etc. big time. Now it opertaes smoothly and doesn't jam. It leaks, but it opens. :-)
