whats the difference

in a B16A 88-91 (SiR I),
B16A 92-93 Integra (XSi)
B16A 92-95 (SiR-II)

and i know all the power specs but if something breaks or you want to mod are all the parts the same like say i have a B16A 92-93 Integra (XSi)
and it needs something and i take it to the shop will usdm parts work on it like say i need a headgasket do i buy one to fit in a 99-00 civic si.

thanks

Other then whats in bold, that should be the only difference between the two 2nd gen b16. Yes I belive USDM parts will work on it such as long as they are for a b series motor. I've been told parts for a Del Sol that has a b16 is the way to get b series parts.... havn't had to buy a lot of parts for it yet though....

Re: whats the difference

Doesn't the B16A 92-95 SiR II have 170 hp instead of 160?

For real?

Damnit that sucks. I have emissions here in Texas so I don't know what I'm going to do. Maybe I can find someone to hook me up, hehe.

Re: whats the difference

Find a small town that dosn't have emissions and reigster it there. Thats what I plan to do. Or find someone with a spare motor, drop that bitch in, pass and drop the JDM in...

Re: whats the difference

Thats a personal decision. Buying it from hmo, you get everything. Before I jumped to a deciscion, if I was you, price everything you need (tranny, axels, mounts etc...) and compare the two.... which ever you decide is better you should do. Since HMO's motors come with 30000 on them and the basic b16 package from hmo is 1250 with just motor, tranny, and ecu, your b16 for 700 might not be bad, if you get all the other parts you need for under 500-600.

Also what b16 is it, just a b16a2, 2nd gen jdm b16, or a jdm b16?
