02 Tl Tranny Question

Have a 02 TL and the dealer installed the jet kit on it about 4-5 months ago. I noticed the other day that when in park and shift into Reverse there is a little delay before it engages and also from reverse to drive. My wife says it has always done this but I don't remember it before. Getting a little worried that the tranny may go out, and we have 85K miles on it. Fast approaching the warranty end. Any ideas or info on the slow shift engagement?

Re: 02 Tl Tranny Question

Was your TL not part of the recall? Mine was they replaced the tranny and at 24K miles and now they gave me a 100K mile waranty from the 24K so I will have a waranty on it until 124K miles. I would check with a dealer about the recall.

Re: 02 Tl Tranny Question

It was part of the recall. The dealer inspected it and said it looked ok. They installed the jet kit on it. That is there answer for transmissions that didn't need replaced when they inspected them. My concern is that we are approaching the 100k miles that they extended the transmission warranty out to.

Re: 02 Tl Tranny Question

you still have 15,000 miles to go. Don't worry. If it is starting to mess up, it won't be long before it really starts to show. I would say about 5000 miles.
