Enough BS about the 2005 Tacoma!

Even after all the crap I read about the Tacomas I went ahead and purchased one. I have got to tell you guys it is a killer ride for the money. I hear about engine noise and all other kinds of complaints on other sites. I came from a BMW. Had to downgrade cause of finances and kids in private school. I am VERY happy with the ride quality of the truck. I ordered the truck and got what I wanted.

The sticker was $27,225 - they sold it for $25,020 with two tanks of gas and a year of free car washes. Wrote a check for the car and voila no more car payments.

For $25K this is a killer deal. People think they should get the ride and sound (road noise) quality of a BMW or Mercedes - without the price. This truck gives MORE bang for the buck. And the resell value on Toyota is WAY better than my BMW. Tacos hold their value VERY well.

Excellent ride quality, great resale, tons of power and great looking truck. Anybody that complains should spend $55K on another car then compare what you get for half the price.

Toyota has hit a home run with this truck. I have had other trucks – 2001 GMC ZZ1(ext cab), 2000 Chevrolet(ext cab), 2003 Ford F-150(quad). I looked at this before I bought the taco. Chevy has a very good resale – Ford’s resale is a joke. Bottom line GREAT TRUCK – GREAT PRICE. Price SEEMS a little high, but you get what you pay for with a Toyota.

Peace out!

Re: Enough BS about the 2005 Tacoma!

You’re comparing a truck to a BMW? Doesn’t anyone see what’s wrong with this picture? You’re talking about two completely different vehicles almost the same as comparing a SEMI to an SUV what happened to the day when the purpose of owning a truck was to haul a load and the Toyota did it more economically than Ford Chevy etc because it was smaller and more dependable. The next thing you will see in the Tacoma is an automatic but warmer, power seats and a DVD player. (What the Hell am I saying they probably already have it).

ShredHead, I am talking about the many complaints I have heard about engine and road noise from the 05 Tacos. My point is that I came from a high end car and for the money the Taco is a GREAT deal. To many people expect the quality of a german car without parting the almight $ . . . I am simply saying compared to my BIMMER it is a GREAT deal. If I had a choice, I would go with the BIMMER, but for the money Toyota has created a tough deal to beat. When business is great again, I will probably go to a new M3 or M5 in the garage and the taco as my daily driver.

Hope this helps you understand where I am coming from . . .

I love the New Tacoma, If I wanted a midsize pickup it would be the only one on my list.

Well what do you expect, its Toyota. They're king of the world everything of theirs is the best, or at least thats what they tell me at the Toyota/Lexus program at school.

Toyota and lexus are at the forefront right now, but will soon be surpassed. Mark my words.

So is it better than the Sequoia? Cuz that one is horrendous and handles like a boat.

Re: Enough BS about the 2005 Tacoma!

Sequoia was discontinued....has 0 to do with what we're talking about now.

I think Toyota will own the world for a while, they have so many different models and so much reputation. But that could be a result of my brain washing.

Toyota always knows what it is doing. It's just incredible how near-perfect they are...and business-savvy too, unlike a lot of the German/American companies.

And unfortunately for the American companies, 2005 will be a rough year. GM's bonds are to be downgraded to junk at any minute, with a shrinking market share. And Toyota is going to overtake them in global volume faster than people have estimated.

That's because GM can't do anything right anymore, yes the Corvette is sweet, but everything else sucks! Their bread and butter cars are a joke, the new Malibu, G6, any Buick all jokes and they can't move them. Maybe the Pontiac Vibe which is really a Toyota Matrix made at the same plant the Tacoma is made at here in Fremont Ca.. Even GMs 1/2 way decent cars suck in looks, the GTO looks like a bloated Grand Am, and Chevy trucks are the ugliest trucks (Though the Titan comes in a close second). Even though Toyaota makes nothing that excites me today cause it's all front drive they spend a lot of time and put a lot into their bread and butter line up.

I agree. Although the Titan is one of my favorite trucks It seems like GM doesn't know the difference between bland and ugly. I mean, you can make your car not look good...but making a car look butt-ugly is hard. And they do it so easily.

Example: the Pontiac Sunfire

And GM calls Pontiac it's "performance" division. HA.

So, you pick the economy car as an example.

Real Pontiacs:

Re: Enough BS about the 2005 Tacoma!

I picked the Sunfire because I said it was ugly. I don't think the Trans Am, Solstice, and GTO are ugly. In fact, I like the GTO. And I didn't know there was a difference between "real" and "unreal" Pontiacs. The Firebird is dead. The Solstice hasn't reached mass-production, and the GTO is a rebadged Holden. I would say the Sunfire is a real as they get
