98 Passat TDI's exist?

I heard that a few 98 Passat's were released with TDI's in america, is this true? and if it is - does anyone know where I could buy a used one?

I can't remember if I've seen one or not, but all my info says they exist. I'm sure they are uncommon.

Never seen a 98 tdi.

VW stopped in 97 due to low sales.
