bike wont start

well i have a 01 yamaha yzf600r and it had been sittin for a while from an accident..i got it fixed and at the time it would start but wouldnt catch....so i took it to get a tune up...they said the carbs had to b cleaned b/c it had b sittin for so long somethin like that....so i got it back and it started...i rode it home which was like a 15 min ride...then i rode it around my neighborhood for about 10mins...later that night i tired to start it up and it wouldnt start..it would turn on and the lights would fade a little and then u could juss hear this clicking sound...i called the shop and they said it was probably the battery...so i bought a battery and tried to start it agian and it would start but still wouldnt catch..i called the shop again and they said mayb the battery needed to be charged b/c it had the acid in it...so i took it to them to charge it..and tried it again and its still doing the same thing...starting but not catchin...so does anyone think they know what it might be..and how much it may cost

Re: bike wont start

Well lets see, i have a honda and hondas are know for ther reg/reactifire going out and then the stator (altonator). Does your bike have this? You may wanna ck the plugs from the bat to the stator or regulator.

What he said ^. Start with the plugs first. Then check to see if the primary ignition coils (which are connected to the plugs via plug wire) is ok or not. There should be tightended bolt and nut connecting the two coils. It's underneath the airbox.

Sometimes running too rich on the carbs could cause bike hesitation to start, in which case, that would mean those guys didn't do their job right. But your bike should start at least, so carbs is not the main malfunction here. Also check to see that you're not giving TOO MUCH choke, that could flood the carbs again.
