Wrap it up in Foil!
I have seen some people wrap their air conditioner lines in aluminum foil. What is the benefit of this?

Re: Wrap it up in Foil!
Well first i would ask is did you see this in a pic or real life? It may be heat wrap. I put that around my AC hose beacuse of how hot it get's from the turbo. It does kida look like foil but it's not. It's like a crom fabric that can withstand heat.

Re: Wrap it up in Foil!
I have actually seen the foil in person on a couple of different cars and yes it was aluminum foil. I beleive it would provide some shielding from the heat of the header. Don't know if it provide any benefit like cooler AC air temperature or anything like that. I just thought it was "interesting". I'm the type who is skeptical until I see it actually work.

Re: Wrap it up in Foil!
its not just plain foil. LOL its insulated rap you can buy it at Home depot or a home air conditioning retailer. It is designed to keep the cool/heat in and the other oppistie elements out. Sultar makes it along with Honeywell. It would help a little in a car but really intended to be used in a home where there is alot of exposed copper piping.

Re: Wrap it up in Foil!
BAD for TURBO anywrap is bad for turbo unless it is not flamable. Think oil/gas leak it gets absorbed by the wrap and then the turbo heats up and boom flamage. bye bye car in a fire ball. This has happened to so many people that have used the stock greddy wrap that they come with.
