Need some ideas

I'm in the process of an engine rebuild. I had to buy a new block because my old 350 block had a crack in the cylinder wall. I'm also buying a good aftermarket cam, and flat top pistons, but i'd kinda like some good ideas as how i can make this car smoke the competition w/o draining my entire life's savings. I just need some little things i can do to give it a little extra power.

Power comes from the heads and cam.
A good set of good flowing heads (ie Trickflow's) with chambers sized to give 9:1-10:1 cpmpression ratio.
A good cam..depending on if it is flat tappet or hyd roller.
Headers
and freer flowing inlet tract.
