Lightbulb 2000 Cabrio CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

I have had the check engine light on my 2000 Cabrio for 2 YEARS now!!
I canNOT get this thing to go out, no matter what repairs I make.

I personally think it's the dang light itself that has the problem!

Problem is, in my state, we have to have emissions inspection to obtain auto tag. I can't pass emission, because the light will NOT go out!

Once, after spending a minor fortune to get the light to go out, I had gone a day & a half, and was still going through the "cycle" to see if the light came back on. While the light was still out, I took a chance, and attempted to get my emission inspection done. I PASSED!! Not an hour later, the DANG LIGHT CAME BACK ON!!!!

It's a year and a half later, and it's STILL on. I have had the diagnostics run and each time, do what it says...it's ALWAYS different.

THOUGHTS???? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
