Tranny
I've got a 99 Rodeo LS V6 4x4
My question is about the tranny. I called the dealer about sevicing it. I asked to have the pan dropped and the filter changed. I was told there is no filter to sevice in this rodeo. Is this true? I was under the impression there was a filter in there. I mean I would think the Isuzu dealer would know, but I am not sure. |

I recall from my research here there is a filter. Try a search on filter + trans or transmission. And wait for the calvary!

There definately is a 'filter' on the 4L30E. It's your typical AT filter, a square(ish) thin, flat box with a screen type filter media on the inlet side. Most isuzu dealers wont touch the filter per thier service manual. I'd change it out on an abused unit, or if you dont know the service history on it. I wouldn't touch it until well after 100K miles on a regularly seriviced 4L30E.

Re: Tranny
I had the dealer do the flush. They insisted there was no filter, but what am I going to do. I will go somewhere else next year to get the full service done to it. It is a little disconcerning that the dealer does not know this vehicle. I am not sure where to take it now down the road for a tranny flush and filter change.
Thanks, Marc |
