Unhappy Power Window Problem

I have a 98 Cavalier z24 2.4 2 door. My problem is my drivers side power window will not work. A mechanic told me it was the power window motor, which he now replaced, but it still does not work. FYI my passenger's side window does work properly. Now I was told to replace the power window switch (in the center console)??? I was wondering if anyone can help me or give me advice before I pay more $$$$... Thanks!!

I Love My car and Chevy but why can't the stupidest things just work.. instead of being a pain in the butt

Re: Power Window Problem

my car is doing the same thing, my idiot friend mashed down the button and held it there and now the driver side window does nothing. If I find a solution to this problem before you do, i'll be sure to let you know. Otherwise HHHHHEEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!!!

Re: Power Window Problem

well most of the time it is the switch in the console, but mine is starting to do the same thing but i think it just needs lubed up, but you can find a switch in a junk yard for cheap and i think sunfires and cavaliers use the same one so you double your chances of finding one.

but this is a very common thing in these cars and if a cavy owner thinks they dont have this problem they will sooner or later

Re: Power Window Problem

if you can get a switch on ebay i recommend it. I got mine brand new from the dealership and it cost me 160 bucks. but at least the window works again.
