what type of oil to use
I have a 92 s10 blazer 4x4 with 111k miles on it, just wondering what type of oil I should use, the owners manual says to use 5W-30, but I was wondering since it has good bit of miles on it I should use a different weight, my friend recommended 10W-30

I have 160K on my 99 and run Castrol GTX 5W-30, with an AC-Delco filter, live in Wisconsin, and have had great luck with this combination.

Re: what type of oil to use
5w30 is perfectly fine for your application.
Don't start changing oil weights.
