Basic Starter Mods for 2003 GT Eclipse
I am looking to do some modifications to my car and just looking for some guidance. I have already added an AEM cold air intake and I am looking to add the greddy evo2 exhaust. I am looking for an exhaust that will give some "noticeable" performance and good deep sound. Also if anyone has suggestions on good starter mods let me know. looking forward to the feed back.

If you have a MT then a short shifter is a nice, cheap mod. Also adds a little flash to the interior with a nice shift nob. If you wanna do exhaust cut your cat off, and then do a "catback" off the strait pipe. You wont really notice a lot of difference. Without the cat you will probably get better gas mileage, and little better performance...but if you dont cut it off, adding a catback system wont really give you anything but a better sound since the stock system is pretty good. Dark window tint and maybe a not too ricer body kit would look good. Rims and tires, FI, or Nitrous will help overall performance. However, adding rims will probably add weight depending on what size you go with, so if you do rims and tires without any HP mods, your acceleration might go down, but your handeling would go way up. Brakes and SS lines are a good starter performance mod that actually provide a noticable difference. Drop it, new suspension, and LSD would be pimp shit. Most of these mods (besides brakes, shifter, tint, and Suspension) are 1K plus in money, so unless you are made of $$ it will probably take a while to get the car to where you want it, but slow and steady wins the race...good luck.
