tranny leaking wtf

hi my mom just got this '94 taurus. i was driving it the other day and it was running fine till it just stopped and tranny wouldnt shift. i eventually got it home and there was a perfect streamline of transmission fluid. looks like it is coming from a line. someone looked at it the other day for 5 secs and said it was the front seal. i dont believe that because of the way its leaking. it doesnt leak until youve ran it a few minutes. if it was a seal it would leak all the time, right? someone else told me it could be the vc modulator valve. i dont know what that is...
im pretty sure its not leaking from the radiator.
i hope there is a simple solution i can do myself, i know bit about cars, but never worked on a front wheel drive tranny. if anyone has any suggestions on where else the leak could be coming from that would help alot.we dont have the money to go to a mechanic they all rip you off anyway.>
btw, the engine and tranny where supposedly rebuilt when mom bought it, so maybe it could be related to that.
please if you could tell me every place possible it could leak so i can check all. seems to be leaking in more than one place. oil leaking also.

I dont mean to be a jerk but it sounds like somebody didnt know what they were doin when rebuilding the the trans.
best thing for you to do is get it up in the air so you can get under it and trace the leaks

I had the same exact problem with my '95 SE at 130k, I ended up jacking it up and tracking the leak to the bellhousing on the transmission, in which case a seal was busted, which unfortunatly requires a rebuild.
