Traffic Ticket Suggestions

If anyone has ever owned a crotch rocket, you know that the cops aren't too friendly when it comes to speeding and other moving violations. The reason for this thread. What kind of tickets has everyone got, and did anyone find any good ways to have them dismissed. I got a ticket for Carless Operation and one for No Proof of insurance though I have proof but could not present it at the time. I'm not worried about the No Proof ticket, because I think I can have that one dismissed. But as for careless operation, well, that could be a bigger problem. Technically I should have gone to jail for going about 130 in a 50mph zone, but the cop didn't have his radar on, or he was being nice. Go figure. Any help would be appreciated. I have a clean record and this would be my first ticket since I have owned my bike in seven years. I guess my lucky number came up. Crap!

I don't know about why cops give ticket for no proof of insurance. Because I think in Florida, if the rider is above 21 years old and wears a helmet while riding, insurance is not mandatory. He must have driver's/motorcycle license present at all times, as well as vehicle registration.

As for 130 in 50 zone, I do agree that the cops was being extremely generous to you. Because it's not exactly careless operation or moving violation, but a severe case of reckless driving/riding, and endangerment to self and others. I don't know what your fine is, but you should pay. If it's something more serious, you probably want to get a attorney. If this wasn't your first time, then you're very lucky to have gotten away with all these times. And you should realize that you probably deserve this, if not something more severe.

Sorry to sound condescending, but the matter is not something to be applauded for. With all things being considered, and not being hauled to jail, you're still very lucky.

However, if this was done in a completely isolated backroad with no residential or commercial area nearby, or other cars around, then you were probably right to indulge yourself and only had put yourself in danger in the process. I'd say get an attorney still if that's the case, and convince the judge that you weren't threat to others.

I'm surpised that you pulled over for him at 130 mph, you obviously could have gotten away with it at that speed, presuming you were riding in backroads....

Re: Traffic Ticket Suggestions

The cop even asked me the same question: why did I stop, when I could have gone over a bridge and been in another jurisdiction. I was in the zone I guess. Come on, if your going that fast, you should be concentrating on the road and not whether or not it's a good idea to run from the cops. It was in the middle of the night, no traffic when I got it.

down under the cops give you the "asshole test"

pass and you get the ticket

most of my mates who are cops agree that they will only pull a bike over IF they are being real idiots. general speeding and minor infractions will be overlooked. 130 in a 50 deserves a ticket but i admit to doing the same fairly often but only for very short seconds.

ive been pulled up but only for warnings or to chat about the bike

Re: Traffic Ticket Suggestions

Tits work wonders...

Then again, my bike couldn't speed if it wanted to, so there goes that. I've gotten in trouble for my face shield being open and for running red lights (at full lean during yellow... like I can pull it up and stop at that point... DUH). Although once I had a cop follow a group I was riding with for MILES on the interstate... at least 10 miles. I've been LUCKY so far.

Re: Traffic Ticket Suggestions

ummm did you say tits? hehehe

Well your right in FL you don't have to have ins, unless you don't where a helmet. Hell you can even say you have a permit and they don't know if your lieing or not. It's not in there computor. I have been yet to get pulled over. Most of the cops around here are riders to so they might pull you over just to look at your bike. ummm what a reason.....

So any way about them tits, how to they work? And i may need to see for myself hahahaha "teacher"

We have that teacher down here deborah lafave can't spell her last name. But she is the teacher that was doing the do with a 14yr old boy. Lucky, lucky boy. How many here would dream of that?

hey tange, i've got tits and it doesn't work for me!!!

slightly off subject, how does your licence system work.

we get 0 points on learners with a speed limit of 70k's
then 1 year on red provisional with 4 points higher speed limited
then 2 years on green provisional with 6 points still speed limited

then full licence with 12 points
0-15 k's over limit = 1 demerit point
15-30 k's over limit = 3 demerits
30-45 k's over = 6 demerits
45+ instant loss and minimum 3 months suspension

during public holiday weekends all these are doubled

all our residential roads are 50k zones and larger ones are 60k's. main roads are 70 or 80 and highways are 100-110

But she's going to jail for that or some form of punishment for sexually abusing a minor.

On different note, that 3 points thing could be waived by taking traffic school and paying the ticket or hiring an attorney to get it dropped. Last summer when I was caught doing 82 in 55 in empty backroad in my car, I took the school, and paid the reduced fine, D'OH! I could have saved my time and money by hiring the attorney.

you guys actually go to court over traffic fines?!!!

i've been busted twice when younger doing 96 in a 60. (60miles in a 35)
first time almost ran over the cop as he stepped out
second time was chased by unmarked car for over 25k's before they pulled me over. i was actually doing close to 180k's in a 100 zone but they couldn't book me because i changed lanes before they could get a legal speed check. finally got me and laughed about it because they had as much fun as me and they reduced the fine.

still i took the fines and payed them and lost 11 points for three years.
i did the naughty so i payed the price. no point whining about it

You don't have to go to court if you don't want to, unless it's a serious offense. Usually attorneys attend the court and appeal to drop the speeding ticket.

I have been pulled over three times in a month. The key is to be honest. The first one was at a red light that never gave me the green arrow. Told the officer the situation and he let me go. Last week I was doing 75 in a 55. Told the officer that traffic was moving between 70 and 75. Other key is to tell the officer every move that you are doing. Identification is in this pocket, insurance under this seat, taking off gloves, etc. Turn off the bike / car too. Keep hands on the steering wheel / handle bars. Might sound a bit on the corny side, but you want the office to be assured that he/she is the one in control. Never argue with the officer. If he gives you a ticket, take it to court. He cannot take it back because it is already logged. You do not want them to write bad notes against you. Last week, my girlfriend went to court for a red light infraction. She told the District Attorney the situation and it was dismissed because the officer did not write good notes. Who cares about the $55 fine. It's the insurance that hits the pocket book. You should never give in. Let the city work at getting your money. You do not need an attorney, just do your homework and practice your defense. When you go in for your arraignment, (guilt/not guilty/no contest), ask to see the ticket and jot down any notes that the officer wrote against you. Once you plead not guilt, the ticket is public record and can be viewed by anyone. The last ticket I got was for blue corner lamps a few years back, which I decided there was no way I could get out of that one. $20 and 0 points. Other then that, dozens of tickets, and 0 points to date. I have a court date for 4/19, so I will come back with the results. As far as 130 in a 50mph, that all depends. Rush hour is not good. Open road all by yourself with clear vision ahead fight it.

<------ insurance guy hahaha i'll screw you all. (must be female please)

Yeah Fl kinda sucks but you can get out of every ticket if you know how. Now you can take the school but again you will bend over and take one. They are gonna reduce the ticket but you have to pay for the class. So after you add it all up you just payed more for the ticket, damn them to HELL

That's why I mentioned about the attorney. My dad's old boss had his attorney for these sort of things, he'd speed every single day, and let his attorney take care of the rest, never had any points on his license after hiring the attorney.
