Newbie has tuneup questions

Hi:

Just bought a 2000 PA (non SC) with 63k miles from a dealer and don't have a clear history so I want to go through it.

What are the recommendations for tune up parts & intervals? I got a Haynes manual but it seems pretty vague.

I got the following so far:

New Michelins today (had a vibration @ 65 mph hopefully cured)

Am going to buy & install the following:
AC plugs (OE) or should I use some others?
OE plug wires ( or others? )
Air filter
PCV valve
Fuel filter
Cabin filter

What about trans fluid and coolant? Although they looked good, should I change them anyway?

What kind of MPG should I expect?


Any suggestions or recmondations would be greatly appreciated!

I own a old PA Ultra and did a tune up on it. If ya want the good stuff I recomend the following stuff

For plugs I recomend the Bosch Platinum 4, they are little pricier about 5 bucks a piece here in TX, and the matching set of Bosch Cables. As for filters I recomend Fram Air and Fuel filters, If your gonna do the oil, I use castrol high mileage and fram filters. If you replace the O2 sensor i recomend the bosch ones as well. I sound like a salesman for them but its what i use and i get the results i want. as for the fluids its your call to change them or not, I bought my pa with 105 miles on it earlier this year and that was the first thing i did just to make sure...

As for the bosch hardware if you wanna know how well it works my moms old 93 626 that had a blowback problem. I changed the wires and plugs after fixing the blowback issue as well as the sensor and oil and filters. even though that car has 200k on it the thing ran better than when she bought the car.

As for changing the plugs on your car, you may have to use a floor jack and slight lift the motor with it. I had to do that to reach the back plugs given the fact of being a bigger guy.

About the O2 sensor. I read in other posts that these were cheap to replace. When I went to the parts store, I learned there are 2 sensors (before & after the cat). Each are about $65. Seems a little pricey.

The guy at the store said wait till I get a check engine light, if no light then they are ok.

Is this true?

Also, how do I know which one to replace?

Just a note:

Bought 'O.E' AC Delco plugs ($6 ea at Advance).

Took them out to look them over and lo & behold, stamped into the metal base: 'NGK Made in Japan'.

Nothing against the Japanese, just that if I wanted NGK I would have bought them to begin with.

So much for OE plugs, I took them back and bought Bosch 2x Platinum for 1/2 the price and I also don't have to worry about the gap.

Also, the AC wires are the same as the dealer offers, I checked.

I could be noninformed but I never knew that ac delco plugs were ngk that's a first because I always recommend AC Delco parts whenever some one is replacing ignition parts on a GM engine.

I have a 92 sc and there is only one O2 sensor that i know of, and it is right on the back exhaust...manifold? I can't think right now, but I know that it's on top of the down pipe in plain sight. $19.98 at advance auto.
