1990 Lumina Euro Tach and Speedometer Stopped Working
Went to use my 1990 Lumina Euro 3.1 today and the Tach and Speedometer just stopped working. I also noticed some hesitation that was not there a couple of days ago. I think the car may have been jump started a few days ago (by my daughters friends). I am hoping it is not a damaged ECM. The other gauges seem to be functioning ok. Any suggestions?

Re: 1990 Lumina Euro Tach and Speedometer Stopped Working
May or may not be your problem, but a bad ignition switch can kill some of the gauges and put the transmission in a higher gear causing sluggish starts. Not sure if your year/tranny used electronic shift, though. Went through 2 ignition switches on my '92 Transport and dead tach and sluggish starts was the first sympton (due to high power window current loads burning out one circuit in the ignition switch - had to train the kids to open/close one window at a time!).
