My 1987 98 Regency Brougham
Heres my ride. its currently almost completly stock, aside from headlights. my camera is beign a turd so i will get the rest of the pics up later. ill just write about it for now.
its got a burgundy/maroon paintjob, original. w/ matching interior. power windows, driver seat, locks and remote trunk release. its got the DAMNED GM/delco radio in it, the obscenly tall one. its got a very nice interior. engine is a 3.8L V6. not sure what the HP and torque are on it. i havnt been able to find any solid specs on it. cant be to weak, ive spun the tires on more than one occasion. is seen a couple sites listing the olds/gm 3.8L @ 200-220 HP, which would be nice but i doubt that. although it is a heavy ass car, weighing in at 3625 pounds. Now, My plans in the order im doing them. Head-Unit I want to put This head-Unit in. i was playing with it @ tweeter while i was looking for a wiring harness for a job im doing shortnotice and i love it. so so simplistic yet feture packed. lighting This to control the 2 of These Under the each of the from seats. im also thinking about blue. i like turquise thoguh becuase it will match my guages. Speakers The Stock 6x9's in the rear deck ad getting replaced with These ANd the 3.5's in the front are getting swapped for these The 6X9's will be powered by This Alarm i will bbe installing a Viper 791XV Subs The finally to my whole system. i will be mounting two 12" subs in the far back of my trunk at a slight angle to save room. i am debating between two models. im am mostly likly going to go with two of These Pioneers seeing as they as 1/2 the price of These Alpines . Both are 3000W subs. they will each be powered by there own PD-3000. Well thats what i plan on doing to my car. heres te only pick i could find. ill get more on here soon. ![]() |

Re: My 1987 98 Regency Brougham
First get a REAL amp. that amps maybe puts out 400 watts total on a good day. Soon followed by a lot of smoke and burned epoxy smell.

My mom used to have one just like yours, just a different color. I remember driving it to school back in the mid '90s, blaring Rage Against the Machine. I got the strangest look from people because here I was driving this old man car, and listening to loud, angry music. I've calmed down a bit since then, but still have a thing for old man cars (I've got a '93 Buick Park Avenue now).
The 3.8L for the '87 model year is rated at 150HP. I don't remember the torque specs though. My only warning for you is to stay on top of maintaining the transmission. It was my experience that the engines in those cars are good for 200k+ miles, but the tranny is only good for 40-50k miles. After the '88 model year they did some major changes to the design of the transmission and they were much more reliable. |

im @ 137K right now, it seems fine. and i got it dyno at around 200HP, 185 Torque.... so it may not be the original.
