Thumbs down Impossible!

There is not way i can get to the back plugs. I have the engine tilted forward and still cant get my hand back there. I cant find the back two bolts to remove the coil packs either.

Re: Impossible!

Rubberman it is VERY difficult but it is possible. I did it last week.
You must reach back behind coil pack and you will be able to remove"2" bolts which hold coil packs. It is a bit of stretch and need thin arms and lots of cursing.
One piece of advice it helps when you have a mirror.

As the Sherlock Holms said " When you eleminate all the impossible whatever may appear impossible is possible"

Re: Impossible!

i think i can see the back left bolt. It looks as if its a bolt sticking up with a nut holding the alum. bracket. The back right i can see nor find. My hand must be too big cause i cant get it back there. Im about to say hell this this plug change. WAY too much work involved to change the back 3.

Re: Impossible!

Rubberman
The other bolt is exactely same about 4 inches further in.
First remove the one you can see then reach in from left to right behind coil pack. I had to do mine since it had 180,000 km on the plug. Now it should last me until it dies.

Re: Impossible!

rubberman,
If you have a floor jack, one thing that helps is to place the floor jack under the front part of the engine cradle, remove the two front cradle bolts, then drop it a bit. Of course you will have to have the front part of the van on engine jacks. I wouldn't try this with anything but a 2 ton jack.

Hope this helps.
