some irony and a standing "o"
Ok, we have all been there, driving down the road and all of a sudden your car just quits. So I am going home last night and it happens to someone else this time. I have been there - car quits, middle of a fairly busy highway blocking 2 lanes in an intersection- and so I pull over to help this guy who is trying to push a mid-80's full size f-250 king cab uphill to get it out of the road. Both of us cant get it up the hill and onto the side of the road,so I suggest, after 2 or 3 attempts at pushing , that if he has something to pull with I would give it a try with the 94 3cyl hb. Of course he had a good laugh, but I told him I would get huge bragging rights if any one sees a metro pulling an F-250
Anyway, we tie them together with a cargo strap ,I let the clutch out, give it gas and we move about 3 feet. The front right tire is in gravel and is just spinning and throwing rocks everywhere. Well, the strap breaks on us , so we back the little metro ( which is almost as tall as the hood ) up to the bumper of the truck tie the cargo strap together and get another one to get extra strength, and off we go!!!! My little metro, amid clouds of tire and clutch smoke, pull the F -250 up the hill across the street and into a gas station , where we discover that a fusible link at the selenoid is fried. After we get into the parking lot at the gas station all the a** holes that were watching ,but would not come out to help were yelling and clapping ( and laughing ) at us. So I guess my question is does anyone know where a tractor pull is going to be held soon? I think I might have a chance in the 3 cyl. mini's class. - Anyway I was just glad I could help someone out , and now if I am broke down there is one more person ( whose name I didn't even get ) that might stop to help , or maybe carry the good will when anyone is having trouble! Thanks for putting up with my story and all METROS can be proud now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: some irony and a standing "o"
Awsome!!!! I towed my dads RX7 with my 95 hb a few weeks ago. I was very suprised it did so well. We had to pull it up a pretty steep incline on my dads street and it felt like nothing was there.

Anyway ,yeah I was suprised it pulled it at all, after I was able to get out and see them hooked up it looked like a tug boat on the titanic!

Re: some irony and a standing "o"
Hahahah this story truly inspires me to take care of my Geo. And I just wanted to say that you had the guts to take on a F-250 with your Geo...You are my hero, seriously that must of been intense and it probably felt pretty good that your Geo was helping a F-250 King Cab tooo! I will always ride with pride in my little 3 banger thank you *Smiles happily*
