Grand Prix GTP

I'm buying a 2003 GTP in the next few months and I was woundering What the max HP the tranny can handle before having problems. Is there any other common problems I should look out for when i get this car. I have a Grand Am GT right now and love the car but just wish is was faster and cost less to modify, after researching on this car i've fallen in love with it.

my two cents: i would say that if you have the cash to drop in the big HP you should have the cash to drop in a THRASHER modified trans.
if you beat the trans just right the car already has enough HP to smoke it. if your easy on the killer driving and neutral drops your trans should be fine with a couple of mods. (pulley, chip, exhaust, intake) if your wanting like 500hp or something then yeah your trans is as good as smoked. like i said thats my two cents worth.

Re: Grand Prix GTP

If I where to go with a tranny that will hold some power,id look into one from ZZP.They have had some great review's from other's that have had this tranny installed.ZZP is located in Grand Rapids, MI 49507 and for a limited time are offering free install.Cant beat that !
