I think on US spec cars the light comes on automatically at multiples of 52,500 miles, 2 x 52,500 = 105,000.

It needs resetting with the right diagnostic equipment.

On my 1991 Range Rover the reset is via a hole on brown box (3"x2"x1") under passenger seat. Hole may covered with label. Use bent paper clip to reset.

Actually this is a good time to replace oxygen sensors if never done. Mine had 173K before I did it. They were gone. Some place I have a post on this replacement.

You are correct. On US spec cars, the Service Engine Soon Light will come on at intervals of 52,000 miles so the correct response would be to get under the passenger seat where the brown box is. If you cannot reset it that way, you might have to take the box out and tear it apart. be careful but you shouldn't have that much trouble doing it.
