alternator problems

Hey guys my alternator went on my a month ago and since then i had to replace it 3 times and everytime the car still died while i was driving. I bought it from pepboys its the bosch alternators and its remanufactured. Now do you think its the alternator thats shitty or something else voltage readin only 11.9-12.3 i think volts


i need help this shit is startin to get irritatin and exspensive

what year are you working on? is that voltage reading w/ car running or off? have you checked fuse#24 (15amp) in driver's kick panel?

readin with car on... 91 ls no i didnt check the fuses

sorry...gave you the wrong fuse number. it's fuse 15 (7.5amp) under the dash. also check fuse 31 (120amp) under the hood. if you still believe it's the alternator...have them bench test it or return and try a different auto parts store. if bench test proved it is a good alt or a different alt from a different parts store is still giving you the same problem...check the wires connected to the alternator for any shorts.
