Just wondering how good everyone's broadband is where they live. Here is a screenshot of my new 6meg cable

It all depends on what site you're downloading from. If their server is slow, then your transfer rate will be slower than from a site that is running faster. I think something like the Bandwidth Tester plug-in for Firefox would be better to use to compare. Here's mine from Firefox:

And it also depends on if you're using Cable or DSL, because DSL changes constantly depending on how many people are connected to the station.
Also from that pic in your sig, it looks like you're only about 2 hours away from me. What track is that, is it NYIRP in Leicester?

Yeah the cars, but the ads I've seen. I used to listen the The Edge when I visited my friends at college. But it's not even the track I thought it was, because there should be seats on both sides of the track for the one I was thinking it was. Looks like I'll have to do a little search and find out if that track is closer to my house than the other one I mentioned.

Here is mine, and its DSL on a network with like 7 other computers, sometimes more when they got the laptops kicking with the wireless

checked at www.dslreports.com under tests/tools then speed test.

This is on my wireless laptop:

2005-03-26 20:36:15 EST: 2235 / 426
Your download speed : 2289050 bps, or 2235 kbps.
A 279.4 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 436967 bps, or 426 kbps.

and on my desktop:
2005-03-26 20:42:25 EST: 2332 / 406
Your download speed : 2388053 bps, or 2332 kbps.
A 291.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 416233 bps, or 406 kbps.
