Electrical Problem???

Just purchased a 2001 S10 ZQ8 with 4.3L about a month ago... ran fine til now. Started it up after a few days and noticed the left turn signal indicator and ABS light on constantly. When using the left turn signal, it flashes rapidly and a couple gauges went dead and then went back to normal operation after the turn signal is off. Now, today... the ABS light and BRAKE light are constantly flashing when driving and the turn signal still flashes rapidly. If the vehicle is idle at a light or parked, no lights come on, but the turn signal still flashes repeatedly. So far, no blown fuses although strongly believe that the turn signal is the root of all this??? I did reset the computer and nothing changed. Anyone with similar problem or can shed some light...???

Like I said, just got the truck... where is the multifunction switch located on the vehicle?

LOL, I think he meant the switch (stalk off the column) is bad.
Is that like the "any" key on a keyboard? ;o)

Its the main switch that your blinker lever is in as you stated before, I should have clarified I was agreeing with you.

After inspecting the headlight/turn signal assy and removing the air box, I discovered a ground bolt with two ground leads mounted on the chassis underneath the headlight assy. They were covered in rust, cleaned them with contact cleaner and a little scrubbing, reattached and everything works like a champ. Thanks for the all the input. Hope this helps anyone who has similar problems.

most of the time electrical problems are bad ground connections. Always check the easiest solutions before you go tearing into stuff. thats my only advice on cirucits.
