Un-even air flow (heating)

My 00 SEL when heat is on, I noticed not enough heated air in the driver side while plenty in the passanger side. I guess the machanism that suppose to distribute even flow of heated air is not properly functioning. Anyone out there know exactly what I have to do to fix this problem?
