Help with sensor identification on 89 Honda LXi
Hello all,
I need a bit of help identifying a sensor on an 89 Honda LXi that is screwed into the top of the piping that the thermostat is attached to. If viewing the engine from the front of the car there are two sensors that at sticking straight up. I believe the one on the right (closest to the block) is the water temperature sensor. Does anyone know the name of the other sensor just to the left of the water temperature sensor. This second sensor (the one I need the name for) is located between the water temperature sensor and the little bleed screw that allows you to bleed air from the coolant. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Re: Help with sensor identification on 89 Honda LXi
i believe your vehicle has 2 engine coolant temp sensor. one for the gauge...and one for the computer (to turn on the fans).

Yes, there are at least two engine coolant temperture sensors one "sensor for the computer", one "sending unit for the temp gauge". And I saw a third on a '90 Accord LX which may have been the bleed screw and I was unaware.
They should be sticking out to the left not straight up though (on '90) So there is a ECTS/ TW sensor And an Engine coolant temperture sending unit (thermostat)
