My head gasket blew on my 1990 4.3 Astro, I've found a bunch of low mileage (low priced) 96-01 Vortec 4.3 V6 and I'm wondering if everything from my motor would just bolt right up ?
thanks, Ralph

Re: will a newer 4.3 block work in my 90 Astro
Does anyone know the difference between a 4.3 V6 Vortec motor & a plain ol' 1990 4.3 V6 ?
What the difference in the Vortec heads as well ? thanks in advance

Re: will a newer 4.3 block work in my 90 Astro
interesting.
I'm not sure what year GM put the balance shaft in. '96 for sure, don't think the '94's had it. I think this would affect the intake manifold/ fuel injection, which has changed since '94. Then there's sorting thru the engine sensors and controls. You could get into a bunch of not-directly-related problems..... |
