99 Sunfire will not start on random occasion

My friends 99 Sunfire will, on completely random occasions, not start. She turns the key and there is NOTHING. All the dummy lights and interior lights will not come on. When I tried to jump it, it would not take the charge....we gave up...I was about to have it towed. I shut the hood of the car and the dome light came on. So I had her try it again and it started up.

Any ideas???

PLEASE help!

Make sure the battery cables are tight...if they are check the battery, and if it is good, when you get it started take it to autozone and have the alternator checked.

Also check your ground wires & make sure they are clean.
