MotorVac

Im thinking about getting this done. I have a 00 GTP with about 84,000 miles on it. Im doing this in hopes to regain fuel economy, get rid of the hesitation, and prevent engine failure. Have any of you ever got this done to your cars? If so how much did it cost and did you notice a differnce?

The other thing is that when my car gets to 100 it sounds like it wants to quit. Its kinda of like you hit the govenor and kicks itself on and off in a matter of seconds. I had my car to 128 MPH before when I first got it, so I know it aint the govenor. Any ideas on whats going on with it?

Thanks

Re: MotorVac

As far as a motor vac I have never had one done but a gentleman I know did. He said it significantly increased the performance of his vehicle. Throttle response was better too. The cost in my area is between $70 and $100. As for your loss of power you may have a slipping supercharger belt or restricted air flow such as a dirty air filter. Hope this helps!

Re: MotorVac

I had that done when I was having my random misfire issue corrected. So far I am noticing better throttle response. However, I've only driven it from the shop back home .

I apparently had a ton of carbon buildup in the fuel/combuston system.

The Motorvac couldn't be discounted and cost me $120. However, our family friend works at one of the bigger service chans so you pay a premium for everything.
