Ram Air

Alright, the "official" countdown has started...and to celebrate, I'm thinking of the first project I'm going to tackle...an efficient and SAFE induction system...

I'm going to go with a supercharger, but I'm going to wait until after my first oil change to get too far into that...

Now, I'm going to be studying the Firebird and other "ram air" style set ups...does anyone have a good idea?

http://www.evofusionusa.com/TeamSR/H...limaxhood.html

I'm thinking of going twith that one for my induction...

Yay, nay?

Anyone else gone this route and run into a brick wall?

I'm just not too enthused with the CAI route...we have some serious rain around here, and yeah, the streets can flood while you're out, it can come out of nowhere...and yeah, I kinda want to do something a little different...

Re: Ram Air

Crimony, now I feel stupid...and uh...scammed...heh heh...
Anyway, I'm honestly not sure which S/C I wanna go with man...I hear great things about the Alpine, but I've read into the RIPP after hearing people bad mouth it a long time, and I have to say that I'm impressed...

At first, I was nervous about the methanol injection, but I found out that it wouldn't use as much meth as I was afraid of, so that's one issue down...

I'd like to do a ram air setup because of the CAI issue and hydrolock...yeah, it's easy to say that someone will never have to worry about it, but you know us virgos, we ALWAYS worry...and yeah, I'd like to do something a little different, see what I can come up with...

Do you have any thoughts? I was thinking of looking into the Firebird kits...maybe modding up some tubing around the foglights or something (not sure whether or not there are big enough openings on the '05 though) and running dual intakes into the manifold...

Or something...heh heh...like I said, I just started thinking about it today...

Re: Ram Air

with the sds (ripp kit) theres no cai involved.. its jus a filter, you can cut directly into your bumper, fit a aluminum, or pvc pipe and have it directly at the filter for the s/c... with a mesh grill blocking any incoming debris that could damage teh filter.. and have a heat shield surrounding the filter (if you have room)
