Re: transmissions

What is the best? Depends on what you need it for?
Longer gears=slower accel, but better gas mileage and lower highway rpms, higer top speed

Shorter gears=fast accel, bad gas mileage and high highway rpms, plus you top out lower

Re: transmissions

People usually want Si transmissions. They are similar to DX.LX ones but the final and 5th gear is closer/shorter. It accelerates much better also.
Are you talking about a stock engine?

Some people also like the dohc zc lsd tranny, but thats hard to find! But stock Limited Slip!

If your talking about b-series engines. People go after 92-93 Ys1 GSR transmissions(there are geared like an ITR) or an ITR tranny, also the super short JDM S1 tranny from an Honda Integra XSi, or even the SiR y1 tranny with LSD(...the one i have)

Re: transmissions

well im opinion is the USDM CRX Si tranny. i mean with the d16a6 engine....its straight. i like it. the gears are real short and the only tranny i have found that has the closest gears to compare are the JDM CRX Si tranny. although the LSD tranny is of the hook i think without LSD the CRX Si is the best tranny. And if ne body disagree's dont get pissy its just a personal opinon. The bad thing about the CRX Si tranny is the fact that at 60mph you are at 3000 rpm. its kinda hard on ur motor. but if you have 2 vehicles like me its ok..... you just take out ur other on when you go on the highway.

im thinkin that the integra GSR tranny is the best. only b/c the GSR integra runs a 15.2 (I THINK!!!! i might be wrong) so it must be somin between the hp and the gear ratio. i hope this is some help.

Re: transmissions

i personaly think a hybrid tranny is best. It uses an si and a zc tranny. You use the si case so you can keep your axles(zc is an option so you get equal length axles) You then take the zc gears 1 though 4 and the si 5th and final drive. To make a very quick tranny and still have the si highway gas mileage. On my crx i have a d16z6 in it and plan on getting a jrsc and what ever else i need to hit about 200 horsepower. So i might put an hf first gear in it for easier traction control then use a zc 2-4 gear followed by the si 5th gear and final drive but i not sure about that. At the moment i have an si tranny and love it later

Re: transmissions

i love my dx tranny, they are not as bad as some people say. i plan on turboing my car within 6months or so , the dx will be perfect, i wouldnt have to jumb through gears like a mad mad. a si tranny is good for a track (drag or auto-x).
