A few questions about the GEO Metro.....
I am thinking about getting one. Do they really have 3 cyl's in them? Did chevy buy geo out? If they did dose the chevy metro have a 3cyl in it to? What should a used one in good condition run me?Looking for a gas saver to get me around town, the chevy truck cost to much to run. I really want to use the truck only when I need it.....

Yup. A 1 liter, 52 HP, 3 banger on mine. I think they did make a 4 cyl., too and the later "Chevy" Metro may have that for all I know.
There's no "Geo" manufacturer per se, as far as I know, it's just a brand name stuck on as they came off the boat. Check the driver side door sticker. It should say Suzuki, and made in Japan. That's what I do, incidentally, keep a Chevy truck in the garage mostly, and take the 40 mpg Metro to work. Besides, it'll fit about anywhere...even in a parking ramp.

Re: A few questions about the GEO Metro.....
The Geo name was a Chevy marketing ploy. When I bought my 96 Metro HB new in 96, the sales book said that a portion of the sales of Geo vehicles were donated to environmental causes. Wheter that is true or not I don't know. Chevy dropped the Geo name in 97 and in 98 the Tracker,Metro, and Prism were called Chevys. The Storm (Isuzu Impulse)was deleted several years before that. The Metro (Suzuki Swift) and Tracker (Suzuki Sidekick) were Suzuki powered built in Canada by Cami (IIRC). The Canadians got Pontiac versions of these cars (Metro=Firefly)(Tracker=Sundowner?). The Prism is a Toyota Corolla. The US Metro had a 1.0l 3cyl up until 95 when they gave us the 1.3l 4 cyl option.

If you want a 1.3, but an older body, the suzuki swift was a standard 1.3L from 89-94 in north america. Same car. Just a little more beef. They same with a SOHC or DOHC engine. The 1.3 does come with about a 6mpg loss tho. But expect better longetivity out of a 1.3. Has lower gear ratios, so it's not cranking 4000RPM's all the time just to keep afloat. I wouldn't pay any more than $1000 for a good running metro or swift from 89-94. I'd go with a 95' tho. New body, no OBD-II, power steering, 1.3L. Can get one for about $1,000-$1,200

I agree, the '95 is the sweet spot. Geozukigti neglected to mention the significantly improved safety, improved handling and the 13" tires, appealing from an availability and hydroplaning perspective.

Ahh, yes I did. Also forgot to mention the bigger brakes
Also, the more rigid frame that's less prone to structural rust.
