99 intrepid engine switch 2.7 to 3.2

Hey, I share your anger of having engine problems with the 2.7L engine in the Dodge Intrepid, Mine has only 50,000 miles and the dealer told me that i need a new engine, the car is running good, there is no smoke coming from the exhaust and the car has good power, but there is an annoying knocking noise in the engine, so if i'm going to replace the engine i'll get something better, does anybody knows what it takes to switch from a 2.7 to a 3.2 and what years and models are compatible , since i will be buying it from a junk yard.
Thank You.

First Make sure the junkyard does not cut any thing! There is a whole bunch of changes. You need the power steering pump,a/c lines, front of the exhaust, heater hoses, throttle cable, radatior and a/c condensor (intact, bolted together),a/c compressor.I have done one and it does fit with ease.My father bought a Chrysler Concorde with a blown up 2.7 and I converted it to a 3.2.My father test drove it and it had more power than with the 2.7.The 2.7 computer will work with the 3.2,get the 3.2 computer just in case the 3.2 does not work with the 2.7 computer
