Overhead Console?

I want an overhead console for my X. Does anyone know if these are available for the X, or of another model that will fit the X?

ive got that same overhead console in my 93 chevy k1500, they are help up from the visor brackets, i guess if you found one that fit in the Xterra you could fab or get a bracket that would mount in between the visor and the roof and itd work.
also mounting it to the visor mount might seem weak but mine doesnt move at all, i wouldnt suggest getting that middle thing though, all it does it add a change thign and a place to put sunglasses and mine moves around a lot, like theres a space between it and the ceiling so it isnt flush, im sure if you wanted to though you could figure something out to make it fit good but i dont think its worth getting the added middle thing, just the rack is pretty handy, ALSO(this is the last thing i say dont worry) you might wanna replace the carpet that is on the inside of it, when you put things up there i.e. cell phone, cd's, etc they tend to move around and sometimes when you accelerate too fast theyll fly right off and hit you in the face

I've looked...

a few months ago, but couldn't find anything. If you find one, post it here. I had one in my Ford truck and loved it.

Thumbs up

I'd love to get an overhead console for the X. I had one in my Expedition and it fitted what I needed it for. Hold my garage door opener and my sunglasses, and keep 'em out of the way when I'm not using them. I haven't taken a trip to the junkyard to look for one yet. Maybe sometime this summer.

Seems like stuff would fall out of there while wheeling. The X doesn't have a lot of rise in the roof behind the window either, so it seems like it would reduce the view out, but then only us tall folks would notcice soemthing like that!

my friend installed that on his Grand Cherokee and he said that visibility absolutely sucks. After he drove around the block, he unbolted it and returned it.

I guess I'll measure the bolt pattern and see how close I can get with one for another model. I'm 6'0", but I don't have any problems with seeing out of top of windshield. I tend to keep my seat reclined more than most people except when I'm offroad. Then I put my seat back up more so I have better visibility over the line of the ARB.

Re: Overhead Console?

For anyone who wants to install an overhead console in the 05 or 06 Xterra, the overhead lights snap out easily and there is a lot of room above the headliner just in front of the interior lights for a reinforcment mounting plate. You can pick up the constant 12 volts from the overhead lights. Looks like it should be a fairly easy install.

I am looking for a small overhead console, but I have to wait until this snow stops and goes back to Montana. I will post details if and when I find one.

Thanks, Xterable
