short throw shifter

do you have to take out the trans to install a short throw shifter?

Nope, only the black interior center console and the shift boot underneath, bolts in from the top inside the car. Are you going to install a real short throw shifter, like a C's, or the sogi mod?

LOL alittle play on my words. Anyway yes there are fake short throw shifters, the cheap SOGI mod is what 99% of everyone has and it is not short throw, only a shorter height which moves your right hand farther away from the steering wheel (which is bad). If you want a real shifter get a C's, and get ready to pay because they go for $300+ and are getting more rare every day. Just to clear one thing up though, you are asking this about the MKIII right?

its a 88 so i dont know what that would fall under. also a good link on where i can get a real short throw shifter.
