Selespeed slipping into neutral in city mode

Hello All,

I bought a brand new 156 2.0 Selespeed Alfa back in March 2003. In the time that I've had it, it has slipped into neutral whilst driving in City Mode about 30 times. When this happens, I over-ride the City Mode by pushing the gear lever which usually sends the car into 4th/5th gear as I would have been driving in 3rd gear. Therefore the problem usually occurs when my foot is lifted from the accelerator.

I have had it looked at 4 times over two yeard by an Alfa garage but their tests show there is no fault.

I was just wondering if this is a common problem and what it could be caused by.
