What is it?
On the the right of the oil filter there is a oil filler cap with grooves and it has a little dip-stick, also a pint of fluid in reserve.
It has writen on it "ATF" what Is that thing ? How do you read the dip-stick ? What type of oil is that? 1999 323i Thanks Lenny from Texas"Ye-Ha" Cow-boy Who drives a Bemmer. P.S. Dam the person who took the owners manual!!! |

Sounds like your power-steering fluid.

Taken from my owners manual -
With the engine stopped, unscrew the reservoir cap and insert again. The oil level must be between the marks on the dipstick. Add oil if necessary. Run the engine. Top up oil if necessary until it is between the two marks. Switch off the engine. The oil level may rise to approximately 5mm above the mark. Replace the reservoir cap. Hope this helps. Note:This is for my car which is a 1996 model - but guessing it is probably the same. Cheers, Rossco. 1996 E36 320i(Euro) |
