High rev when starting

When I start my 1988 Jeep Cherokee, it high revs to about 3000 rpm's and then comes down to normal (about 750). I dont pump on the gas peddle when starting except one time (but it does the same thing even when I done push it all). I have tried re-setting the computer by removing the Postitve terminal and switching the key then replacing it and driving it a small distance.

The idle is normal after this happens on start up. I have changed out the plugs, wires, distributor, and cleaned the injector.

I have thought about changing out my coil except I don't want to change it with an OEM version and the conversion parts seem impossible to find (so that would be my second question - the conversion).

Any thoughts.....?????
