Re: lambo doors

Good kit and really affordable don't really go well together. An affordable kit off of e-bay could be $400. A good kit from a name brand company could be $1100.

from what i heard you dont want to go cheap on a lambo door kit. its not practical for everyday use.they look good, but if you get a cheap kit or a faulty install you will have problems and end up hating it. good luck with this one.

Re: lambo doors

you're not going to like lambo doors. the open and shut really crappy and hen you raise them up, they wobble all over the place, sometimes hitting the fender and either denting or scratching it. but, i guess that's just my opinion and you can spend your hard earned money on whatever you want.

Re: lambo doors

Those are common problems, but once again, if you get it done right, it should be fine...don't go cheap on big projects like that.

If you are going to do lambo doors, don't go cheap. As was said, cheap and lambo doors = bad things. Typically the shocks in cheap kits are CHEAP, and they WILL blow out, leaving you with nothing to hold your doors up!!! If you want to do a lambo door conversion, check out a reputable company that uses good, STRONG shocks, like Decah. If you can't afford it, wait until you can, strike a deal with the company to lower the price, but DO NOT get a cheap kit...the shocks will blow very quick among other things and you'll be screwed.

As for not being practical for everyday use, I agree 100%. I find them an absolute pain when I am not at shows. Sometime you don't want to pop them up, sometimes you just want to open the door, get out and slam it shut. Well...you can forget those days...and unless you can squeeze out without lifting them up...you'll have to lift them up every time you get in and out, every time you want to open the doors to grab the cd's off the floor, etc. Then theres the whole trying to sit in the car with the new way the doors open. Oh, I got used to it pretty quickly way back when, and my girl got used to it quick...but a lot of people who don't get in and out a lot...the ways they get in and out are funny...

All in all, Lambo doors can ber a great addition for a show car. If this is just your daily driver, you race it @ the track, you don't show it, etc...however...you may want to think before you do it. You'll now have to open the doors this way ALL the time. This may not seem like a big deal @ first, but 2 years later...it can be annoying.

If you do decide to do it, do not go cheap. Save up money and buy a conversion from a reputableqaulity compay as mentioned above, don't buy a cheap imatation or bootleg. Just because they LOOK the same does not mean they work and LAST the same.
