chances are you'll end up throwing a code. what you need is an O2 Simulator

They're decently priced over at Highrevmotorsports.com give that a try around 40-60 bucks US

or even RKsport.com

but for something from 89.. you might need to look around a bit.

Re: will talkking out the cat mes up the O2 sensor

well if you've been driving your car a while you'll "feel" the extra power, Such is the relationship between man and machine.

I'm not sure if there are any negative effects from not using an 02 sensor. but you'd better get use to having that check engine light on all the time.

The only true way to see if you gained any power is get it dynoed. then you can get hard numbers.

Re: will talkking out the cat mes up the O2 sensor

1989. if the o2 sensor is before the cat you are fine, if its after you might wonder. i do believe cars 1996 and up get affected by the lack of a catalytic converter in a negative way, non sooner. so the answer is no, you should have absolutely no problem without a cat. if you wanna have fun though, install a remove cutout where the cat was . whenever you wanna play push the button and feel the gains of 10%hp

Yep, what tuner said. Your car is old enough that the 02 sensor is before the cat, so it shouldn't really affect that.
