Parking lights

I would like to clarify how the lights are supossed to work
I have a 94 3000gt and when you turn on the lights or click
the knobe to the 1st postion are the parking lights supossed
to come on only and then at the 2nd postion headlight come on
like any other car I have owned. on mine all the lights come on at the
first postion and the second click is the same I was wondering
if it may have something to do with my after market alarm
[vipor] hook up
thanks

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Yea the 1st click is parking lights, 2nd is headlights. Who installed that Viper alarm for you? The previous owner of my car installed an aftermarket Viper alarm and he didn't do a very good job on it. My car needs some serious rewiring.

I don't have that same problem you're having, but ... sometimes when i try and lock my car using my alarm remote, my powered locks don't work. Other times my alarm doesn't work at all. And you know how when you leave your headlights on, turn off your engine, and open your door, your headlights are supposed to turn off? Just recently my headlights stopped doing that. So ummm, maybe the person who installed that Viper alarm did a poor job on it like my previous owner did :\ Have a professional look at your car. I know for sure i need to take my car and get it rewired. LoL i always punch my door to make my locks work, can't keep on doing that forever

Yeah, if everything was working fine before you had your alarm installed, then someone probably did a crappy job on it. What model Viper alarm did you get? I'm asking because the some models (like the 791) have a lot of extra hookups that could be done like the hood/trunk trigger that most of the time, alarm shops wouldn't do. So if you had one of those and they were having a hard time figuring out the wiring diagram, they could have done a crappy just and mixed some wires up.

The alarm was installed by circut city as I was
told by the previous owner thats why I was
asking because I thought it was strange that I
could not turn just the parking lights on by them
selfs I do have the hood and hatch switchs and
motion detector sounds like its a instalation
problem associated with the Vipor 800esp
thanks for your help
