1: Sand the kit down reall well taking care to remove any unlevel areas from previous painting or from the body kit its self that may have been missed from before.

2: Primer the piss out of it if its fiber glass.

3: Make sure the primer went on nice and smooth be sure to lightly sand out any areas that may have clumped up or created an uneven area in the primer.

4: Apply first coat making sure to use consistant sweeps with the gun in even streams. You dont want to run a stream move the gun down like an inch then run another stream. If you do that you may end up with uneven areas that will just need to be sanded later.

5: After the first coat dries apply coat 2. Make sure to use the same method as the first coat.

6: If you are using 1 step paint (clear coat already added into the paint) then you can add as many coats as you like. If you are using 2 step paint (paint then clear coat needs to be added to the painting process) then Ive found that going about 2 coats works well but if you want to add another then that is up to you.

7: Once all painting and clear coating is done wait for paint to dry and set. Go over everything with a light grit sandpaper to get rid of what is called orange peel. You can find it just about anywhere. The sandpaper will actually say on it something to the effect of "for auto paint and orange peel". You are going to want to do this with water. So that will make this a wet sanding process.

8: After you have made sure that all the orange peel is going so that you have a nice smooth finish and you are happy with the end result (dont worry it will look a little duld down at this point) now its on to the fun stuff. You now need to get some of the best wax you can get your hands on and buff the living hell out of everything. Its best if you can get a electric buffer as it will not kick the shit out of you rather then doing it by hand.

Now that that is all done take a step back and say god damn, Im done.

Install and enjoy.

If I missed anything Im sure someone will be by to add something in or delete one of my steps but I have done all my own painting and those are the steps I always have taken and my jobs always come out good.

No problem, glad to be of help. After all none of us just woke up one day and knew everything. I know some of us may think so but we didnt.

Hope the kit turns out good. Be sure to post some pics.
