question for fog lights for '99 sr5
a little history before my question:
i bought and installed an aftermarket fog light kit from a toyota dealership (made by hella but considered a toyota kit) for my'99 sr5. to make a long story short, i had one short out at 4 months, got a new one for free (warranty) and had the second short out at 13 months. toyota won't replace and directed me to hella but hella won't replace since they deem it a toyota design defect (they claim that the tires throw up water into the lights due to their location causing the short). the thrid light (the one that toyota replaced) just shorted out. i can kind of see where hella is coming from, but shorting 2 lights in 13 months and 3 lights in 2 years???
my question is (finally) has anyone had problems like this with oem fog lights? i'm considering paying $400 for 2 oem replacement lights but don't want the same thing to happen to them. is it worth it?
