alternator installation

I bought a 145 amp alternator for my '03 5.3 liter to replace the 105 amp stock one. The 145 is supposed to be a stock delco alt. that came from a denali.
My question is, what special procedures will I need to install the upgrade? Is it as easy as disconnecting the battery and swapping them out, or will I need to do something else more thourough?
Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

Re: alternator installation

Call your parts store and see if the alt size will dictate a different belt. When I finally replaced my belts the main belt had 2 choices depending on the size of the alternator. Wouldn't you hate for the tensioner not to be able to keep the belt tight or have it way to tight?
